Effektif – The Cloud basedBPM launches Private BETA
Effektif, the new BPM product that launched its Private BETA today seems to be one of the answers to what’s next in BPM. It allows you to design and execute Business Processes on the cloud within 5 minutes. I got a chance to check it out and I was “amazed” with the design and simplicity.
BPM on the cloud is what everyone is talking about. Effektif allows you to create shared workspaces where your processes could be designed and run – all on cloud.
Effektif has a clearly defined distinction between Basic Todo’s and full fledged processes. You could get started in seconds with Todo’s or you could use the Embedded Signavio designer to draw your processes. You can assign tasks, Add comments, create Forms and that too in a very simple way. It kind of reminds me of products like Trello and Basecamp. Collaboration is built into every aspect – you have shared tasks list, comments and notifications.
Effektif has been founded by Tom Baeyens, who we all know, is well known in BPM Community. After JBPM (Redhat) and Activiti (Alresco), Tom seems to have evolved his BPM Vision to move towards Cloud, Mobile and Simplicity. What I like about the product is that its built from scratch. With no excess baggage of earlier products, Tom and his team have done a great job.
A true analyst dream is that he should be able to Draw, Publish and Work without a Developer. With their “5 minute” challenge, Effektif seems to be targeting the right set of audience.
When 37 Signals guys launched Basecamp, everyone frowned on what features it lacks. Yet, Basecamp came out as one of the most successful Internet based products of all times. The new age Internet products are fundamentally changing our preconceived notions on features. Today, people prefer something which has less features, less complicated and yet solves a major portion of their Business. Less is More.
Its definitely a product to watch out for. I am going to write a few more posts as I play around with it in next few days. Stay Tuned.
