Team Description:
Amazon’s BPMS (Business Process Management Systems) is a small but highly productive team with a primary focus on using Appian’s BPM Suite to deliver process automation solutions to Amazon’s Shared Services, Accounts Receivable & Tax Departments.
Position Description:
We are looking for motivated individuals who will fit into Amazon’s Self-Service Development Ecosystem.  Interested Applicants must be willing to perform as part Systems Engineer, part Support Engineer, part Data Engineer, part Appian Developer, and part Project Manager.  As with any Amazon Job, willingness to take Ownership and Customer Obsession are a must.  Amazon is a rapidly growing, ever changing company and great opportunities abound for professional growth.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Computer Science, Similar Technical Degree, or equivalent Industry Experience
  • Basic Java Programming
  • Basic DOM programming (JavaScript)
  • Basic SQL  & Data Modeling
  • Basic Linux
  • Basic Shell Scripting
  • Advanced Excel
  • Ability to pick up new technologies and absorb new skills in an OJT environment
  • Customer Oriented Attitude
  • Willingness to carry a pager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Appian Experience
  • Business Process Modeling Notation (process diagramming)
  • Java programming in the Eclipse IDE
  • Some knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma Methodologies (speak the customer’s language)
  • Experience in Scrum/Agile (or similar iterative development methodology)
  • Project Management Skills
